How
will labels be used?
There are literally
thousands of labeling applications. In addition, any one facility
can have a multitude of labeling applications. We can not list them
all here. (See 222 ways to use a labeling
machine.)
Before purchasing
a labeling machine it is useful to list the labeling applications
in your facility. In other words, what do you want to label? Here
are a few examples:
| Temporary
warehouse labels. |
There
are a number of alternatives for temporary warehouse labeling.
Paper labels with removable adhesive are an economical choice.
Other options include magnetic labels and static cling labels.
|
| Low
temperature labels. |
Label
materials and adhesives are available that are designed to
work in cold weather, cold storage, and even for labels applied
to items stored in liquid nitrogen.
|
| Emergency
labels. |
What
do you do when the power goes out and employees and visitors
need information that helps them respond appropriately? Glow-in-the-dark
labels are an example of emergency labels. They allow information
to be displayed when there is a power failure.

| Labeling
storage tanks. |
Storage
tanks may require a variety of labels. Large tanks may require
large format labels that can be read from a distance. Long
labels can be made for use with the gauge that shows how full
the storage tank is.
